Frequently Asked Questions

Everything family law attorneys need to know about PulseExtract

What is PulseExtract and who is it built for?
PulseExtract is an AI-powered financial analysis platform built specifically for family law attorneys. It automates the most time-consuming part of a contested case — preparing the financial affidavit.

Instead of spending 25+ hours manually reviewing bank statements, categorizing transactions, running calculations, and filling in court forms, attorneys upload their client's financial documents and PulseExtract handles the extraction, categorization, calculations, and report generation automatically — producing a court-ready affidavit with a full audit trail.
What states does PulseExtract currently support?
PulseExtract is currently available for Florida family law attorneys, with full support for Florida Family Law Forms 12.902b (Short Form Financial Affidavit) and 12.902c (Long Form Financial Affidavit), as well as Florida Standard child support guidelines.

We are actively expanding to additional states. If you practice in a state not yet supported, contact us and we will keep you informed as new states become available.
What types of documents can PulseExtract process?
PulseExtract reads and extracts data from the full range of financial and legal documents relevant to family law matters:

Does PulseExtract generate Florida Form 12.902b and 12.902c?
Yes. PulseExtract is built around Florida's court-mandated financial affidavit forms. After processing your client's documents, the platform generates a completed affidavit — either the Short Form (12.902b) or Long Form (12.902c) — formatted for court submission.

Every figure in the affidavit is linked back to the exact source document it came from, giving you a built-in digital paper trail ready for mediation or trial.
How does the client document portal work?
The client portal eliminates the back-and-forth of chasing documents. Here is how it works:
  • You generate a secure, expiring upload link inside PulseExtract — takes about 30 seconds
  • You send the link to your client by email or text
  • Your client opens the link on any device and sees a guided checklist telling them exactly what to upload (e.g., "Last 3 months of bank statements for all accounts")
  • They upload directly — no account creation required on their end
  • You see in real time what has been submitted and what is still missing
No more emails asking "did you get my documents?" and no more sorting through disorganized file dumps from clients.
Can PulseExtract calculate child support and alimony?
Yes. PulseExtract includes built-in calculators for both:
  • Child support: Calculated using the 2023 Florida Standard Child Support Schedule, including shared parenting time adjustments
  • Alimony: Analyzes income disparity and marriage duration to model guideline scenarios based on need and ability to pay
Both calculators use the income data already extracted from your client's documents — you do not need to re-enter anything. Results are exported as professional PDF reports with a full step-by-step breakdown.
How does the audit trail work if a figure is challenged?
Every figure PulseExtract places in the affidavit is hyperlinked back to the specific page and document it came from. This means:
  • If opposing counsel challenges a number in mediation, you can show exactly where it appears in the source document
  • Every transaction categorization is traceable — you can see why the AI placed a transaction in a particular expense category
  • The entire chain from raw document to affidavit line item is preserved and exportable
This removes one of the most time-consuming pre-mediation tasks — manually cross-referencing every figure against its source.
What does the court and mediation packet include?
With one click, PulseExtract bundles all relevant outputs into a single organized PDF packet, which can include:
  • Completed financial affidavit (Form 12.902b or 12.902c)
  • Income analysis summary
  • Child support worksheet
  • Alimony scenario report
The packet is formatted for professional presentation and ready to share with opposing counsel, the mediator, or the court. Sensitive information such as Social Security numbers and account numbers can be redacted before export using built-in redaction tools.
How accurate is the AI extraction and categorization?
PulseExtract achieves high accuracy on standard financial documents. The AI categorizes transactions directly into Florida Form 12.902c expense categories using a combination of document understanding and legal classification models.

You always have the final say — the platform is designed for attorney review, not attorney replacement. Every categorization can be reviewed and adjusted before the affidavit is finalized. Think of it as having a paralegal do the first pass so you only spend time on exceptions, not every line item.
How do I get access to PulseExtract?
PulseExtract is available by application. Because our platform is used to prepare court-admissible legal documents, we set up each firm individually after a short onboarding process.

To get started:
  1. Submit a demo request on our website
  2. We will schedule a personalized walkthrough tailored to your practice
  3. Once you are ready to move forward, we will set up your firm account and guide you through the onboarding
There is no self-service sign-up. This ensures every attorney on the platform gets a proper introduction and support from day one.
Do I need to sign an agreement before using PulseExtract?
Yes. Given the sensitive nature of the documents processed — client financial records used in active litigation — we require a signed agreement before granting platform access. The agreement covers data handling, security responsibilities, and terms of use.

We walk through the agreement during the onboarding process. If your firm has specific data privacy or confidentiality requirements, we are happy to discuss those during your demo.
Can multiple attorneys at my firm use PulseExtract?
Yes. PulseExtract supports firm-level access, meaning multiple attorneys and paralegals at your firm can work within the platform. Each matter is organized independently so cases never get mixed up across users.

Firm-level access, user permissions, and seat counts are discussed during the onboarding process and structured based on your firm's size and needs.
Is my client's data secure?
Yes. Client financial documents contain highly sensitive information and we treat them accordingly:
  • Encryption in transit and at rest: All documents and extracted data are encrypted end-to-end
  • Isolated matter storage: Each case's data is stored separately — no cross-matter data exposure
  • Secure client upload links: Client portal links are time-limited and single-use by default
  • Built-in redaction: SSNs, account numbers, and other sensitive identifiers can be redacted before any export
  • Data never used for AI training: Your client documents are never shared or used to train our models
What support is provided after I get access?
Every firm receives dedicated onboarding support to get set up correctly from day one. Ongoing support includes:
  • Email support: Responses within one business day
  • Onboarding walkthrough: We work through your first matter with you to ensure accuracy and confidence
  • Guides and documentation: Step-by-step resources for common workflows
  • Feedback loop: We actively incorporate feedback from attorneys to improve the platform
Because PulseExtract is purpose-built for family law, our support team understands the workflows you are dealing with — not just the software.
